Execution
The big idea was to turn our enemy into our ally. The rain that destroyed houses helped bring a message about building new homes.
To spread the word, the agency recommended setting up chalkboards outdoors where a home was drawn in chalk that the rain washed away little by little with each raindrop. The literal message on the chalkboard was: EVERY TIME IT RAINS, I LOSE IT and had the telephone number to call to make donations.
Outcome
People called and made cash and construction material donations that helped build 50 houses in the areas that were the most heavily hit by landslides and floods caused by the downpours. The outdoors also helped for the enrollment of 71 volunteers.
