We took the main streets and recreated the reality of not having the shelter of a roof by painting billboards with images of school related item in watercolours. So, every time it rained, the school supplies vanished. When it was all washed away we went back to re-paint them. The billboards were placed in the city's main streets catching the eyes of thousands of drivers and passersby.
Outcome
$130,000 was raised through this action along with the annual effort of the organization.115 houses were built, with an increase of 76.9% over those built in December 2009.But above all, we prove that a roof is more than a simple structure. It is part of building a better future.
