Execution

One employee, Jo Hart, suggested that we take our individual passions/unique personal gifts and give back to the community. The idea gained immediate support and “The Passion Project” was born. The whole company believed in the idea and funding was shifted from the annual holiday party to support it. An employee committee took on the challenge of planning and executing this inaugural event.Momentum employees choose Our Little Haven, a residential care facility for abused and neglected children, to receive all of the funds raised.

Outcome

In addition to overwhelming pride throughout Momentum St. Louis, over $20,000 was raised for Our Little Haven in one evening, over double our goal. We had 90% employee participation and 186 donated items for the auction. Of the 400 people invited, about 375 guests attended. This was our first attempt at this type of endeavor. Word of mouth from it has been phenomenal. We have received a Reggie award and the local and industry press continue to be connected to it. Momentum offices worldwide have expressed interest in creating their own Passion Project auctions in 2006.
