OVERVIEW

Description

In an informal meeting with the "mad scientists" from Eepybird, Stafford Green from the Coca-Cola Content Factory brought up the need for an interruptive viral campaign for Coke Zero. What transpired was the Coca-Cola Zero and Mentos Rocket Car from Eepybird's early sketches-- honestly we were not sure it could be built (and the early versions only went 2 feet), but The Coca-Cola Company and Mentos believed in the ingenuity of Eepybird and gave them the support they needed to make it happen. Firing up a car with Coke Zero and having it jump forward fit perfectly with our "It's Possible" campaign.Once a working prototype was created, we shipped it to a huge hanger in California, hired one of our favorite production companies (Sekretagent), and brought in Fast and Furious Director Ron Cohan to direct it in 3D. Everything was shot in one day.Once placed on the web, it flew like wildfire -- picked up by ABC News -- and soon thereafter the rocket car was been driven by David Letterman down the streets of New York. It was reported up by on and offline newspapers worldwide. The 3D version has been a gold standard on 3D application within YouTube. All this worked by Coca-Cola and Mentos giving trust and creative/financial support in amusing ingenuity of Eepybird. Our all working together to do something fun and a little silly made for some terrific marketing....we stopped counting impressions after 80,000,000!
