The Creative Freak is a campaign to launch the M&C Saatchi Raw placement scheme, which naturally evolves the often 'freakish' anatomy a creative person requires to succeed in the industry. The posters alongside a set of postcards were executed in the style of Victorian anatomical drawings. Each illustration is accompanied by an annotation, crafted to be reminiscent of the scientific vernacular found in medical journals. Packaged in matching matte black tubes and envelopes, adorned with specimen labels and handwritten calligraphy. Everything from the choice of canvas stock, right down to the individually set typographic annotations have been crafted to reflect this Victorian anatomical aesthetic. The campaign was then mailed out to a diverse range of art schools and creative industry workshops, intended to be hung on the walls of their classrooms. All to encourage prospective creatives from all backgrounds to apply to the M&C Saatchi Raw placement scheme.

The idea of visually dramatising a Creative's 'freakish' anatomy, led us to the distinct graphic style of Victorian anatomical posters. With this in mind, we felt everything about the project's execution should be in keeping with that style, so we created hand drawn freakish anatomical illustrations, crafted the copy into a scientific vernacular, then individually type set each letter and printed it onto a textured canvas. As a piece of self promotion we utilised a limited budget to create a highly crafted set of limited edition posters and postcards designed to be hung on the walls of industry workshops and classrooms at Universities.

Although The Creative Freak campaign is only in its infancy we have been inundated with responses which has led to our placement scheme now being fully booked for the next 12 months.
