Crown Royal's Guardian Angel spot champions the designated driver and likens the designated driver to a guardian angel. The footage connects the dots quite literally by having a graceful angel impart the Crown Royal Brand's golden crown to the designated driver. She then disappears, but the responsible designated driver is vaguely aware that he was touched by an angel.

In Crown Royal "Angel", the majority of our work was done on the CG wings. When filming, we dressed our actress in static wings which we used for reference and for lighting, and mounted her on a crane to control her movement and placement in the frame. In post, the rigging and live wings were completely removed and replaced with CG wings that were animated. Every single wing feather was animated to respond to movement and environment effects and slow motion to accent some of her movement. We also added small, floating feathers to create more realism and mood. Finally, we replaced the bag the guardian angel emerges from in one shot to match her motion.
