Description
The design needed to be appetizing, while still communicating the lower calorie nature of the product. The design also needed to balance the light, crisp, clean, and natural elements of ‘Sorbet’ - while avoiding the overly sweet notions of dessert or sherbet.
Execution
The team selected pastel colors to convey the lightness of sorbet and employed the look and feel of frosted glass to cue a clean, crisp, icy product experience. The clear bottle ensures that consumers clearly see that the bottle contains vodka, with the halo of color and the sorbet (in the martini glass) driving appetite appeal and flavor cues.
Outcome
While the product line was just released, there has been tremendous support and excitement for the entire Sorbet line. Within 10 days of ship, major national accounts in major US cities had taken distribution and were seeing strong sales momentum - with target consumers enthusiastic to have a vodka specialty that’s light, delicious, and reduced calorie in the dessert inspired vodka space.
