The bacon motorcycle didn't just make headlines for Black Label Bacon, it gave a meaty spotlight to alternative fuels. We turned a waste material of Black Label Bacon, into a valuable resource - fuel. A fuel that emits a delicious smelling exhaust. Everyone we met along the road trip wanted to smell the exhaust. A CNBC news anchor got down on her knees to sniff the exhaust pipe live on air. In the same way Black Label crafts exceptional bacon, we crafted an exceptional machine. Bacon powers everything we do as a brand, and this campaign proves that out. Bioblend Fuels in Wisconsin invented bacon biodiesel, we were the first ones to run a motorcycle off of the fuel. Fully creating a hog that runs on hog.
Outcome
We earned more than 521,000,000 PR Impressions, including write ups in Jalopnik, Fast Company and Gizmodo and news segments on CNBC, Fox Business and Yahoo. We garnered over 32,000,000 Social Media Impressions. Retail shipments of Black Label Bacon increased by over 2 million pounds. As a result of championing alternative fuels, we were invited to be a feature vehicle at The ALT Energy Summit. We successfully gave consumers yet another way to consume bacon and bacon grease.
