Enjoy Your Privacy is an interactive, two-screen experience that viscerally demonstrates the threats to our privacy through our mobile devices.

The site uses the screen on your mobile phone in an unexpected way – as if it were the screen of someone else’s phone. Using WebSocket protocol, your phone is paired with your desktop and suddenly, the private contents of seven total stranger’s phones appear on your phone – giving you access to their most intimate photos, texts, e-mails and financial information. The immediacy and fluidity of the navigation makes the experience of holding a stranger’s phone as realistic and eerie as it gets. A real-time clock and customized wallpaper photos further deepen the illusion that your phone is now someone else’s.

Each character has a secret, revealed when you view certain pieces of “trigger” content. Over 70 videos were stitched together to allow seamless movement throughout the cityscape and the stories.

Outcome

Enjoy Your Privacy was able to create a dramatic and highly interactive experience in a burden category – Internet security. Within just six weeks of EnjoyYourPrivacy.com's launch in October, 2013 we earned 1M+ media impressions. During that time #enjoyyourprivacy garnered 1.4M+ Twitter impressions. Users were spending an average of four minutes on the site. All of this activity was achieved without a single dollar of paid media. What did we learn? Used properly, technology, beautiful design, good storytelling and a powerful message can create buzz and high interactivity with a brand even without media muscle behind it.
