Today, first impressions are more often made online, when someone Googles your name. The problem is that Google and not you, control which search result they’ll see. To prove that Norton cares about protecting your online life, we created the “Top Search Result” service. By buying the rights to your name as an adword on Google, and giving it to you for free, you can control what your first impression online should be.

By buying the rights to your name as an adword on Google, and give it to you for free, Norton can help you control what your first impression online should be. So next time someone googles your name, YOU and not Google decide what they should see first. Use our application to choose what your personal adword should link to. Should it be a Wikipedia page? Your online portfolio? Or that nice picture of you with a dog. It’s your personal space to do what you want with. When you’re done you can feel relaxed knowing that Norton is helping you protect your online reputation. A feeling that is taking you one step closer to letting Norton protect your whole digital life as well.

Outcome

This innovative use of Google Adwords had not only given people a new way to express themselves, it had also proven that Norton is in the forefront when it comes to protecting people's digital life.

This small campaign received over 330 clippings and thousands of tweets. Resulting in over 20 million SEK in earned media value.
