Description
The Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation is dedicated to curing spinal cord injury by funding innovative research, and improving the quality of life for people living with paralysis through grants, information and advocacy. The brief for the re-branding of the foundation was to evolve the symbolic flame mark that symbolizes the spirit and vision of its founders, Chris and Dana Reeve.
Execution
The evolution of the CDRF identity focused on the flame symbol, a graphic image evoking the spirit of Chris and Dana Reeve. The flame mark, was given a modern styling, which is comprised of two elegant forms wrapping to create the flame, as well as referencing the two founders. A clean, but formal type treatment in serif face balances the organic flame to give the full identity a monumental, and distinguished feel. The New identity begat a full branding program, establishing a consistent system for all CDRF related programs, organizations and services.
Outcome
The full Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation re-branding campaign received a large amount of media impressions, including feature story in The New York Times.
