The Mission to the Moon is Audi’s very own moon mission: together with a group of scientists, we developed the Audi lunar quattro – an unmanned rover that is set to complete the ultimate quattro test drive on the moon in early 2018. Our film takes the viewer on a journey that started 4 billion years ago. And leads to the future of humanity. To build the bridge between past and future, we used a historic museum as the shooting location and utilized e.g. dinosaur skeletons as props. The scenes in the museum use the real world and enhance it using particle simulation, 3-D tracking, and holographic augmentation, to make the futuristic world of the mission tangible for the audience. All space scenes were developed and designed to create a realistic outlook on human space travel.
