Execution

To seek a partnership with Warner to use the world famous blockbuster film character Speed Racer. Besides the insertion in the Speed Racer film of a Product Placement featuring a racing team named Petrobras Green Energy, a line-up of licensed products for promotions at Petrobras service stations as well as a game for Nintendo Wii were developed.

Outcome

Results:With the worldwide theatrical release of the film and the publicising of the promotion in Brazil, sales increased by 12.1% at the service stations participating in the Petrobras & Speed Racer Promotion, compared with the same period of the previous year, 8.6% above the industry’s figures. (Period between May 6th and June 14th, 2008).4,625,000 pin code coupons were distributed, out of which 1,619,818 were registered, representing a redemption rate of 35%.A new record for Petrobras promotions.
