OVERVIEW

Description

GE wants to shift the current healthcare model from treating late-stage disease to focus on early detection and disease prevention. For consumers, this means knowing more about your healthcare options and taking personal responsibility for your own health and wellness. The online and outdoor elements of this global ad campaign invited consumers to show us what they do to stay healthy. Thousands of inspirational pictures and healthy stories were submitted. Then, in celebration of World Health Day, we began a month-long digital broadcast of these pictures in Times Square, the centerpiece of a large-scale event to encourage healthy living.

Execution

The “Picture a Healthy World” Web site was introduced on February 14th with an international takeover of 6 Yahoo! country sites, plus promotions on WebMD and other online media. GE also invited its 300,000 employees to participate online.

Then on April 7th, World Health Day, GE took over nine digital billboards in Times Square to display the user-submitted pictures. Street teams and pedicabs, armed with health information, brought people to our live photo studio where they could enjoy their 15 minutes of fame: super-sized pictures broadcast live in Times Square, New York.
