Description
Every day, people poison the air that they breathe but no one realizes it because we can’t see air.
The Anti Air Pollution and Environmental Protection Foundation wants people to help reduce air pollution.
Execution
We created ‘color chart’ billboards made from lichen, using them as live indicators for air pollution.
Each community displayed different messages, for example : “If this turns brown, you die.”, “If this is still green, your air is clean.” or “ This color reflects the health of your lungs.”
When with time the colors changed, people took notice and were shocked about the quality of the air that they breathe.
Outcome
After seeing the outcome from our lichen ‘color charts', many people couldn't believe their eyes and 65% of them became interested in helping to reduce air pollution by following our suggestions, such as: "Use car pools", "Turn off your engine" and "Plant trees to reduce carbon dioxide".
