Execution
First, we sought out a way to visualise our book topics and drew them separately. We placed the drawings on the books, page by page and cut them out. We experimented with them many times until we had the right visual depth and relief effect. Finally we created books with the cut pieces without using any adhesives. That way, we had a composition which conveys the message in exactly 99 pages.
Outcome
For a visual-led generation we turned the books themselves into 3-D artwork highlighting each book’s topic. These paper sculptures made from the books were then put into bookshop windows and in-store POP to create curiosity to browse what was on the bookshelf. As a result, a massive rise in walk-in traffic to bookstores stocking the books and plenty of on-line interest achieved.
