Inside the LEXUS Racing event booth, a zone was set to experience the AR contents of the “LEXUS RC F GT 500”, and coloring sheets used as the marker for the AR contents were handed out. Demonstrations by tablets were held inside the booth, and the image was also displayed by signage.
The 3D vehicle contents were created under the supervision of LEXUS Racing’s racing manager. The running sounds were recorded by instruments equipped on an actual test run. The contents used in this application are filled with Toyota’s best engineering abilities.
Outcome
Children, and even adults, who experienced the “LEXUS Racing” AR were astonished at how their one of a kind LEXUS RC F came to life as a 3D figure. There were even participants who attended the event just to experience the “LEXUS Racing” contents. Participants included other racing team members, as well as Japanese automobile sports media.
There were also many participants who took snapshots of the contents through the application, and shared their original contents on SNS, which contributed to the spread of the event and the stimulation of interest towards vehicles.
This promotion continued to spread even after the race event, as it was taken up in various news sites and IT bloggers.
