Execution

The beauty of the Lufthansa App is that it has been designed to work together with a new feature of the mobile platform app: a feature we have named the “Flight Monitor.” The watch app constantly communicates with the flight monitor to provide highly contextual data to the passenger. The two apps are always in communication with one another. As information is relayed to the flight monitor about changes or updates to the planned trip, the watch is informed in turn, and visual cues and other information are easily relayed to the passenger when he glances at his wrist.

Outcome

The app was one of the few to launch in tandem with the Apple Watch in Germany and the results so far have been staggering. Since the release date of the Apple Watch on the 24th of April the Lufthansa Apple Watch App was downloaded more than 1.900.000 times, an increase of 655% compared to the average daily download rate.

In addition to this, Apple selected and featured our app in the launch communication and PR for the Apple Watch Launch.
