Description

In the United States, sports at the university level is a multi-billion dollar industry. And the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) is in charge. Originally established to protect the safety and well-being of college athletes, the NCAA is the industry’s regulatory body. Unfortunately most of the news about the NCAA focuses on one thing; the controversies surrounding their enforcement of the industry’s rules and regulations. They’re thought of as a cold, faceless institution caring only about imposing sanctions and dishing out penalties.

What gets overshadowed by all the controversy, is that everything the NCAA does is for the benefit of the athletes themselves. And that much of the organization’s efforts are focused on providing those student athletes with wellness, financial and educational support that benefits them far beyond just their athletic pursuits.
