While the Ogilvy logo, comprising David Ogilvy's signature is globally recognised, we wanted to make it relevant to a primarily Bengali-literate audience. We modified the letters so that on first glance they look no different from the existing Ogilvy handwritten logotype. On closer inspection, they reveal themselves to be four letters from the Bengali alphabet, which phonetically read 'Ogilvy'.
Outcome
This logo was met with great enthusiasm at both the Ogilvy Kolkata and Ogilvy Bangladesh offices. So much so that it became an integral part of the corporate identity at these locations. The modified logo also reassured clients that while Ogilvy may be a global entity, it thinks locally and in a language that's relevant to specific audiences.
