We first teamed up with Amana, a Japanese production house, to do a series of images where you would see kids literally releasing all the creativity inside their heads. Once we had the pictures, we commissioned some of the best talent around Japan to illustrate what would be the explosion of creativity coming from them. Each artist gave us a unique take on what does creativity and imagination looks like, resulting in a set of amazing illustrations.
Outcome
As Japan is a very hierarchical and male driven society, the posters, that featured men and women alike, seemed to strike a particular chord within women, as they felt that Ogilvy & Mather could be the place to explore and express all their creativity uninhibited.
Applications reached an all-time high as the posters captured the imagination of students, resulting in the highest number of female applicants ever (90%). As a result, Ogilvy got the best batch of students in the history of this recruiting tool, resulting in one male and two new female hires for the Tokyo office.
