Geared to the interest of Olympic fans, the website highlights Olympic athletes, the Games, and sports, as well as provides a detailed presentation of the organisation, its missions and its activities. More than 7,000 images, 1,200 audio and video files, and thousands of pages, help bring the Olympic values and experience alive for the visitor.Visitors have access to the history of the Olympic Games from Athens 1896 to Salt Lake City 2002, and can discover highlights, innovations, anecdotes, lists of medallists and details of ceremonies, as well as the symbols of each of the Games. The visitor can also experience the challenges of past athletes that have risen to the title of hero, can search the complete database of Olympic medals and world records, uncover the full range of Olympic sports currently on the programme, and discover the Olympic Museum in Lausanne and the organisation of the Olympic Movement.The website redesign is an outgrowth of the IOC’s desire to improve its communication with Olympic enthusiasts. Business Interactif accepted this project, which included website conception, technical development and implementation, as well as of the creation of a new graphic charter and ergonomic guidelines.
