Background

OPPO, one of the world's largest manufacturers, is renowned primarily for its smartphones. This year, preparing for the global launch of the both Find N3 Flip and Find N3 phones, OPPO entrusted us with the task of producing the wallpapers to establish the main visual direction for this series.

Idea

The wallpapers symbolize the harmony between technology and aesthetics, seamlessly integrating with the essence of OPPO's innovative design philosophy. To find this balance, we explored different compositions with a variety of feather structures, textures and the thickness of the tufts, embodying a subtle sense of naturalness in the digital realm.

Execution

How many images can be envisioned when you hear just one word — feather?

Diving with all our enthusiasm into the RnD stage, we explored lots of combinations of shapes, colours and textures to find the delicate balance between naturalness and digital abstraction.

We have delved deep into the study of varieties of feather shapes, gathering an entire collection on our virtual board. Feather structure, texture, the thickness of the tufts all mattered in the context of finding a base.

The Global Launch of the smartphones ran a digital campaign across all the official OPPO's media channels, as well as outdoor advert and ultimately increased the number of sales and attracted more audience;

The wallpaper, which is a composition of feathers, offered the user a new visual experience of interacting with the product. The smooth animation also adds more interactivity and a playful experience while using the product on a daily basis.

The project lasted three months and was created by SideFX Houdini and Redshift Software.
