Description

Parkinson’s disease is much more prevalent and serious than people think. Although there are some treatments that partially manage symptoms, there is no cure and little money to fund research for a cure.

It’s not rare, or a disease that only affects the old, or ‘just’ manifested by having the shakes. In fact one person is diagnosed every hour of every day in Australia. 10% of them will be under 40, and 20% between 15-65.  The disease is a degenerative neurological disorder which affects the control of body movement.

The predominant effect of Parkinson’s Disease is that your brain mixes up the messages it sends to the body. As a result easy things become difficult.
