Description

We created Mundo Saba Teens or Saba Teens World, a School Program for girls aged between 10-14, who are lacking essential information about the menstrual cycle, who aren’t sure what to expect during their first period and are often too afraid to ask.

By approaching middle school students through a friendly and fun School Program and an Advocacy Program we offered a substantial experience to teach and empower them, answering their questions and making them proud to be girls and excited to undergo this stage in life.

We decided to create a concept which highlights and treasures women's intimacy.

Execution

We implemented the following stations:

- Conversation: A casual conversation among friends, which offers the students real solutions to real problems.

- Avatar: a digital app, which allowed users to take a personality quiz to discover the recommended product for them.

- About Me: A hands-on station to see and feel the product, discover its technology and learn how to use it.

- Questions: via an intercom, girls were allowed to ask private questions and be answered by an on-site gynaecologist, encouraging them to ask anything they were embarrassed about or afraid to ask. This idea was supported with an email address for further questions.

- Hand Wall: a painting activity where we asked girls to share their handprint as a sign of their participation and empowerment.

- Digital: We created a Facebook Tab to continue the conversation online.

Outcome

Today, over 100,000 teenage girls from over 190 public and private schools have had the chance to be part of our School Program and learn about menstruation and intimate hygiene in depth.

We are currently in the midst of our 3rd edition of the program, aiming to reach over 165 new schools in Mexico’s largest cities.

We created an active digital platform on Saba’s Fan Page during the offline campaign, with an engagement of over 2% (Facebook Insights) as well as an email address for personal questions, successfully answering thousands of questions.

Our School Program was named the best event by SCA Mexico and showcased at the global annual SCA convention in Dallas, Texas. This program has also been requested by SCA South America to be used as a successful case study.

We have given out over 150,000 free samples both during the event and through school infirmaries.
