Description

People in Turkey just look the other way when there is a problem that they can’t solve. But once they are questioned with a simple problem they that can solve they jump into it. So as UNICEF we decided to give them a simple math problem instead of telling them the child marriage problem. Once they solved the problem they found themselves in a moral problem. Thanks to the conflicting comments saying that the real problem was hidden in the math problem, our major problem (our main message) is delivered easily.

Execution

We intentionally make “The Age Problem” easy to consume. We posted that math problem on social media in Turkey. And we started to wait for responses. The execution was posted in many of the well-known web platforms and also targeted web sites during 6 Jan - 11 Feb 2017.

Outcome

With zero budget, we have reached 7.8 million people. We have collected 5 times more signatures than ever before and a remarkable amount of funds to prevent child marriages.
