Description
The simplest work is more often the most powerful. This film is brutal in its simplicity. It focuses in on a father and
his daughter sitting in a living room with their hands clasped together. The hands are collectively shaking, but we
can’t tell who’s is causing the shaking, because of the hold they’re in. Through the storytelling, the viewer is drawn
into believing it’s the daughter’s hands. Then there’s a twist the viewer didn’t see coming – they pull their hands
away from each other and it’s revealed it’s in fact the daughter’s who’s hands are shaking uncontrollably – she is
the one suffering from Parkinson’s. We confirm what the viewer has just seen with a line ‘Parkinson’s devastates
young lives, too.’ Then we reveal the shocking fact that 3 Australians under 40 are diagnosed every day, and
prompt the viewer to take action by joining #uniteforparkinsons or donating.
