This 22 minute documentary adds another layer to The Next Rembrandt project. It follows the team that made the 3D printed painting created out of Rembrandt-data, bringing to live one of the greatest Masters of all time.
We see various partners and experts talk about the different steps in the 18 month process that led to the unveiling of The Next Rembrandt in Amsterdam. But more than just go deeper into the process, this documentary adds another dimension by interviewing a painter and a philosopher of technology. They talk about what they like and what they don’t like about this endeavour. About the battle between man versus machine. About the painting being the start of a global conversation of where data and technology can and should take us.
