Background

More than 90% of the public spaces in Portugal don’t have accessibility for the disabled. A rate that Associação Salvador founder, himself quadriplegic, knows well, living with his wheelchair that lack of access every day. The challenge was getting more awareness of that in all Portuguese society, suggesting public spaces owners to do the work necessary to remove every step on the way.

Execution

As the perfect casting for the main role in the creative idea, we discovered Diana Niepce work, a Portuguese disabled dancer and choreographer. After presenting the idea to her, we gave Diana the fundamental power of casting her dancing partner to join our orchestra of construction workers in the film.

Outcome

The film was launched on national TV channels RTP1, RTP2, RTP Memoria, TVI, TVI Ficção, SIC, CMTV, Canal 11, Canal Casa e Cozinha, Sporting TV, and in the associacaosalvador website and their social media, and meoblueticket.pt, reaching an estimated 3.2 Million of Portuguese. Associacao Salvador website, that provided useful information about how to make access in private and public spaces, increased 500% its daily traffic during the airing of the film from 12th May until 12th June. It helped to put Associação Salvador on the top 3 of most respected non-profit organizations in Portugal in 2022. Number of ramps built, or steps broken down around Portugal after the film? There are still no estimated numbers, but any number is already lifechanging for so many.
