The sound design is meant to accentuate the world’s illnesses we are faced with. We hear a cardiogram beep each time a new disease is illustrated. The pace picks up as the images and diseases are unveiled, until we reach the last scene of an explosion, at which point the beeping stops. As if to signal the end of the world. When the Médecins du Monde logo appears, the beeping starts again, indicating that with the organization, life will go on and that the fight will continue to bring healthcare to all these people no matter the dramatic situations.
The soundtrack also consists of a soft music in total contrast with the images. The piano notes are calming while the action is quite dramatic. An additional layer of sound effect of a ticking clock adds to reinforce the timing passing and urgency to take action.
