This might be a promotion for a TV show, but comic character Alan Partridge’s birthplace was on radio. So what better way to reach out to his many loyal “fans” than by creating a bespoke radio ad.
Partridge hasn’t actually broadcast since the 1990s. His last TV chat show was cancelled after an unfortunate incident where a guest was fatally shot on air. So co-hosting a TV magazine programme called “This Time” creates the perfect shop window, which could finally see Alan recognised as one of the heavyweight broadcasters of his era.
This promotional spot is Alan’s soapbox on which he can address his fans, and perhaps more importantly, the doubters, the haters and the naysayers - all of whom thought (hoped) he’d never make a comeback. And some of whom appear to live only in his over-inflated imagination….
