Here’s how the Tailor-Made Cart works:

- enter how much you’re willing to spend.

- use the cart’s reader to scan the barcode of each product you want to buy.

- the cart automatically deducts the value of the product from your budget.

Shop within your budget — no more, no less.

That’s tailor-made shopping.

The Tailor-Made Cart was made available at large wholesale stores, which allowed us to reach small business owners.

Outcome

We made some Tailor-Made Carts available at select wholesale stores.

Our carts became an attraction at these places. Everybody wanted to use them.

Thanks to the positive buzz on blogs and websites about technology, more and more stores requested units of Volkswagen’s special shopping cart.

Because the solution was simple and useful, store owners made the effort to establish partnerships so that they could offer the carts at their locations.

We’re producing more units so we can make the cart available at thousands of other stores scattered throughout the country.

The “tailor-made” concept was advertised in the right place, at the right moment. It impacted not only small-business owners, but also end consumers.
