Description
In a mostly capitalist world, one of the greatest strengths is obviously money. But you just have to look at most of the money bills to realize how much we still have to move towards a more egalitarian society: the overwhelming majority of the bills feature images of men. Only a few images of powerful women. So, to disseminate the SOS - Ação Mulher e Família (Woman and Family Action), an NGO for the defense of women's rights, the idea was to show this disparity in a film for the internet that signs to the following concept: "It's not about money. It's not about gender. It's about equality”. With this, the NGO SOS aims to encourage this discussion within society.
Execution
To produce the film, we performed extensive research of money bills from around the world, revealing the reality that the vast majority represent images of men, in the expense of women. The film shows this difference by displaying several bills with men depicted for each bill that displays a woman.
Outcome
The film was posted on SOS - Ação Mulher e Família (Woman and Family Action) social networks, one of the most representative NGOs for the defense of women's rights in Brazil, reaching all its base of followers. From there, the video was widely shared by the Brazilian women. In addition, the newspaper "O Estado de São Paulo", one of the two largest newspapers in the country, embraced the cause and posted the film on "TV Estado", its online TV channel, specializing in news and with a large audience.
