In the ad we see a scene that is typical for the smart fortwo: A smart-car driver parks effortlessly into a very small parking spot. But there is one little twist: when the driver looks over his shoulder to back the car in, he discovers that to his surprise, there is someone sitting in the back of the car. At first he is “shocked” for a second and screams, before he quickly realizes, that he is not sitting in the iconic smart-car two-seater but in the new model with four seats. The tagline than picks up on that idea by telling the audience: “So smart you forget it´s a four-seater”.

When people think of the brand smart, they think of the smart fortwo: the iconic two-seater that made smart famous. So for most people a smart is a car without a backseat. In our ad we play with that mindset to promote the upcoming new smart forfour, a four-seater, which provides all the benefits of the smart fortwo, but surprisingly holds space for two more people.
