OVERVIEW

BriefExplanation

Thru a famous songs mix we tribute the most important chilean folk musician, brutally killed during the military government.

EntrySummary

On September 11, 1973, Chile wakes up with a Hawker Hunter airplanes attack, from the Chilean Air Force.

A Military Coup that decided to put an end to the government and to all artistic expressions that influenced people's free thinking.

One of the artists was Víctor Jara, who was arrested and taken to a Stadium (that today has his name), where he was tortured and murdered.

Víctor Jara was a songwriter, a performer and an artist that promoted Chilean music and represented the working class values locally and internationally, leaving a legacy that reverberates until today.

Musicians have compose songs influenced by his work,

but have never pretend to tell Victor Jara’s murder story with them.

The idea was to tribute him with famous songs… songs that chilean people recognize,

but given them a complete new meaning:

To tell his brutal way of death through them.
