Wade stands at centercourt as these five people, one by one, come forward to tell Wade about how he’s changed their life. Each new story becomes more emotional and more personal for Wade, culminating with his own mother surprising him. The video ends as each person presents Wade with a jersey to swap. And while not everyone has an actual jersey, they all bring something emblematic of Wade’s impact. His mother, for instance, gives the church robe from her first service as a pastor at the church he bought for her when she got out of prison. The jersey swap is a tradition that originated in soccer where players literally exchange their game-worn jerseys after matches as a sign of mutual respect and admiration.
