What is heard is the first artificial sound for electric and hybrid vehicles, which benefits the environment.

It is the sound of the vehicle when it is stopped, followed by the sound as it accelerates and finally decelerates.

No need to translate

In the European Union as in the United States, from 2020 it will be mandatory to add artificial sound to electric and hybrid vehicles, as a safety standard. This is because vehicles with this technology do not emit sound while in motion, which becomes dangerous for pedestrians and other vehicles on public roads.

For this reason it is necessary to design sounds for your electric and hybrid models.

It is for this reason that we created The Hy Project, the first AVAS (Acoustic Vehicle Alert Systems) sound for vehicles that benefits the Environment.

Global research on how noise affects plants shows that they react to specific waveform spectrum vibrations (between 250-2500Hz). When exposed to a specific range of frequencies, plants show better growth and absorption of nutrients.

Taking this data as a starting point, we designed a vehicle sound to inform the urban environment and the driver that the vehicle was in motion.

For this task, we worked with different designers at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, who were in charge of creating a sound, inspired by elements of nature, such as crickets, among others.

The challenge was to create the different sounds of the movement of a vehicle: rest, acceleration, deceleration. We achieve this through the reproduction of rhythmic patterns, depending on the speed.
