Background

Friso found that without help from nurses and childcare experts, most new parents can’t understand why babies cry and have no idea to deal with it.

Idea

To help them, The baby formula brand Friso has collaborated with Baidu to build the first ever AI Baby-Crying Translator: Baby Don’t Cry.

Based on Dunstan Baby Language, we have determined 4 common baby crying sounds.

And after 834 baby-crying-studies, the AI tool can help identify why baby is crying.

Strategy

Through Baidu's big data, it was found that the demand for baby crying-related searches by parents has increased rapidly inrecent years, with the volume of poop-related searches reaching 14W+ per month.

Friso cares beyond your infants’ food intake and wants to journey with new parents in everyday concerns.

Execution

New parents in china can get the mini app when searching baby crying on baidu or on the Friso Brand Zone on Baidu

By activating the app, parents can easily learn the meaning of baby’s cries.

We also produced 4 types of stop-crying melodies to calm crying babies

and we included the tapping sound of Friso cans, which has a possible calming effect

When baby’s crying means they’re hungry, the melody can give Mom a little more time to prepare their bottle of powdered milk.

If baby’s crying sounds odd, parents can get online consultations or make hospital appointments using the app.
