OVERVIEW

Description

Create a magazine cover for the conference edition of Design Indaba magazine, a quarterly design publication read by designers and creative people.

Execution

Featuring the image and amazing story of a 14-year-old Malawian boy, who made his own windmill from scrap parts, the Design Indaba magazine cover was further perforated to create a series of postcards. Each card posed the question: What can your creativity do? and was pre-addressed to the South African patent office: CIPRO. This presented a direct challenge to the reader with regard to their own creative potential, and served to highlight Design Indaba’s belief in original thinking and fresh ideas.

Outcome

The magazine was handed out to delegates at the sell-out Design Indaba conference where favourable response to the cover was noted.
