OVERVIEW

Description

2013 marks Earth Hour's fifth year in the Philippines . So apart from getting people to switch off, another challenge was to make Earth Hour interesting again. How do we engage the public to participate yet again?

Execution

We wanted to keep things visually simple, reminding people of what happens when they switch off -- how magical, beautiful things come alive in the dark.

Outcome

The Philippines has been considered a "hero" country for having the most number of participants globally since 2009. This year, the Philippines has kept that top spot with 1640 towns and municipalities participating in the switch-off event. This TV spot, which aired in major networks before Earth Hour, helped achieve that.
