Background
We wanted the copy and characters to have an authentic NYC attitude while being universal in their appeal.
Execution
In this ad, the copy plays off the visual directly. Since the lemon is angered by the big sugary drink, it takes the straw from the drink to attack it with its pits. The copy plays this up by taking the common saying “This is the last straw” and applying it playfully to an enraged lemon.
