Description
Starwood Vacation Ownership needed a new concept for their in-room sweepstakes campaign. The purpose of the campaign was to drive qualified leads to the Starwood resorts and hotels Vacation Property Hosts for a briefing session, with a more limited incentive budget than previous campaigns. Also, the campaign needed to stand out amongst all other information provided in the guest room and it needed to be easy for the desk staff to fulfil the offer.
Execution
Our solution to the client brief was to develop an in-room piece that evoked curiosity in the guest. The piece needed to stand out in the room and grab the attention of the guest so it was opened immediately. The piece was a simple, yet elegant brochure, held closed with a simple card design that said “Adventure Awaits”. Inside, they found images of fabulous adventure excursions that they could possibly win if they took their card down to the concierge desk and swiped it.
Outcome
The piece exceeded expectations with a 34% response rate, surpassing response rates from all past promotion, including a BMW giveaway.
