We launched the King & Kong Voicemailmaker: a tool by which mobile phone owners could have their voicemail greeting recorded by a Belgian celebrity. Five celebrities with very specific and recognizable "voice styles" were selected. A radio commercial, Facebook ads, posts and an eDM recruited customers to send in their most creative voicemail greetings. They could select the celebrity of their choice and received some inspiration to write the funniest messages. Clients were informed when their personal voicemail message was recorded, and were invited to watch the live recording on our online streaming platform. Subsequently, they would receive the personalized message as well as the video clip of the recording itself. Those recordings were then automatically shared on their Facebook wall to increase distribution even more.
Outcome
Over 20.000 customers participated and 7,200 personalized voicemails were recorded; every one of them starting with King & Kong’s audio signature to brand the content.
The average voicemail was heard 3 times a day. Our total of 7,200 greetings was heard no less than 7,884,000 times a year.
With an investment of less than 80,000 euros, we had a cost per direct contact of only 1 eurocent.
