Execution

The director wanted to make a film that tapped into an underlying universal feeling of wanting a less cluttered world. He wanted to cut through. To provoke. To create a debate. And to make us feel. Truly feel something. It should really talk to us. Hold a lens up to ourselves. People with large eyes and black pupils taking selfies, a sculpture of a woman vomiting a rainbow in limbo. It’s not against all these things... he wanted to question if we need all these things, all at once, day in and day out. Meanwhile he remained conscious that the film could not itself become just more clutter. He worked to find an edge. A single-minded approach that could make people stop for a second to think about what life could be ... if we all read ourselves better. It had to be exquisitely executed and powerful to succeed.
