Background

Belgium is a festival country. As a tiny country, we host more than 75 festivals during summer. Throughout the years, those festivals have been the home territory of Studio Brussel, a radio station rooted in music and youth culture.

But lately competition has become fiercer. Festivals are more popular than ever, so more and more brands battle for attention on the festival grounds. Most of them try to catch people’s attention by handing out free gadgets, clothes, food or drinks.

Radio stations Studio Brussel had to stand its ground and do something else, to prove they’re still the number one festival brand. Our main objective: show all festival visitors that nobody understands music better than we do.

Execution

Throughout the 4 days of the festival, visitors could stop by the Studio Brussel booth and sign a Gibson ES 335 guitar for none other than Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl.

Hundreds of people passed by the booth to put their autograph on the guitar.

Right before their closing concert, a Studio Brussel host interviewed Dave Grohl. And that’s when he handed Dave the fully signed guitar.
