Description
In the campaign we show a fictive world in which our society is dominated by an Asian dictatorship with a horrible taste in music. All day long everybody is constantly accompanied by a guard that makes them listen to a horrible Asian version of James Blunt’s ‘You’re Beautiful’. Our hero no longer wants to live in a world where good music is banned and he decides to rebel. While the guards are dancing to the same horrible song in a club, he jumps behind the decks and plays David Bowie’s ‘Heroes’. He enjoys the music together with his girlfriend while the guards rush to stop him. What happens next is unknown but our statement is made: ‘good music is a human right.’
Execution
There are two music tracks in our film.
First a horrible Asian version of James Blunt’s ‘You’re Beautiful’. This is a new cover of the original track, rerecorded with typical Asian musical instruments and an Asian female singer. James Blunt once stated in an article that he wanted to apologize himself for making 'You're beautiful', as he considers it his worst song ever. For us the perfect reason to use this track as the track of our Asian dictatorship in the film.
We end the film with David Bowie’s ‘Heroes’ in its original version.
