Background

Connections was launched to provide helpful tips and takeaways for marketing leaders. As a customer company, Salesforce sought to provide guidance during times of economic uncertainty while continuing to inspire, educate, and entertain audiences across all industries. The show was created to act as a tentpole program for Salesforce+, a free streaming service for business, while demonstrating the actionable insights they could find across the platform. By the featuring marketers from all industries, Connections was designed to attract a diverse audience and highlight new ways of thinking for business leaders.

Idea

Connections offers actionable tips and takeaways for marketers to adapt to a rapidly changing world. Host Sarah Franklin meets guests in spaces that are personal or important to them for honest conversations about the day's challenges and insights, bringing a human touch to B2B content. The show is now a leader in communicating Salesforce's customer company approach. Content is tailored to emphasize themes of in-person Connections events, while also being sharable on social platforms to maximize audience.

Strategy

Connections target audience is college-educated business leaders aged 25-54. Specifically, Connections—and all Salesforce+ programming—aims to connect with people who have decision making powers at companies of all sizes in all English-speaking territories. Those audiences prefer to watch video on mobile devices and respond positively to targeted digital ad campaigns and social posts on LinkedIn and Twitter. As such, custom content and promotional material is created for each site to meet viewers through channels that fit into their daily lives.
