Description
This radio spot promotes Asia’s largest second-hand books market in Daryaganj, Delhi. It connects George Orwell’s iconic book Nineteen Eighty-Four, with the historic events of the year 1984 in India, in which Prime Minister Indira Gandhi has been assassinated and Delhi has broken out into riots. The dramatic plot of a day on which the book is delivered to a girl, leading to its pages being stained with blood – reinforce the fact that a second-hand book always has more stories to tell than those written inside it. Hence, to own one is to own a valuable piece of history.
