Description

Sports Car Challenge by Volkswagen Group China and our agency way more than a mobile racing game. With unprecedented 3D graphics, authentic engine sounds, realistic driving physics, ambitious circuits and an exclusive selection of the world’s classiest sports cars, the title is best described as a virtual test drive that gives racing fans from all over the world the chance to take place in the cockpit of the car of their dreams and kick the pedal to the metal on their iPhones and iPads – anytime, anywhere.Simultaneous to the title’s launch on the App Store in November 2011, a promotional campaign was carried out via the most popular Western and Chinese social networks on the one hand and the participating brands’ official websites and channels on the other. Since Sports Car Challenge is specifically designed for the rising mobile market of China, it supports the country’s most popular networking services – Renren, Kaixin, QQ and Sina Weibo – and enables the users to share lap records and screenshots with millions of other racing fans.

All in all, Sports Car Challenge generated over 1.6 million downloads and 40 million minutes of voluntary brand engagement and raced straight to the top of the App Store charts in several countries, such as China, Taiwan, France and Germany. Its users posted more than 300,000 screen shots via the implemented SNS sharing function and initiated more than 60,000 dealer calls and visits of the respective brands’ websites through the title’s in-app contact and information services. Having received complaisant press coverage from leading genre websites such as Pocket Gamer and Touch Arcade as well as more than 3,000 5-star ratings from satisfied customers from all over the world, it is safe to say that Sports Car Challenge marks the undisputed highlight of the long-lasting brand game cooperation between Volkswagen Group China and us.

To tie in with the title’s previous success and keep the users entertained at long sight as well, the companies behind Sports Car Challenge have already announced a number of extensive content updates, which will go live in the forthcoming months and include a total of four new cars and two additional tracks. Moreover, the title’s upcoming porting to Android will make Sports Car Challenge available for hundreds of millions of potential new customers and further widen its install rate on the hottest and most fast-moving market in the world.
