“How can one let people be eaten by a shark without hurting anyone”, this was the first and most important question. Very soon, the shark mat was born. As sport-festivals are very popular to the zoo aquarium’s target group it was not hard to find a good event for the idea. Everybody was really excited if the desired effect could be reached. But finally the shark mat worked even better than it was suspected to. And even the photos show the spectacular effect very well.
Outcome
The zoo aquarium got a lot of positive feedback in daily newspapers. Even more: On the weekend after the international pole-vault-meeting the zoo counted 15% more visitors than on any other weekend in 2006.
